Algoma Net Company Mural Restoration
By Don Krumpos & Erin LaBonte
Algoma, WI
Yonder restored this 2007 Walldog mural in June 2022, paid for by Algoma’s Community Development Committee and by the Blazkovec family, who own the building it’s painted on. Special thanks to Ahnapee Construction for the use of their scaffolding. Our goal is to preserve one of these Walldog beauties each year.
The mural’s ornate Victorian showcard lettering spells ALGOMA NET COMPANY around a lone white horse — the company began by making fly nets for horses, then pivoted its netting know-how to sporting goods and lasted a century. The full story is in the wall’s register entry.
