Plate VI. The caption survives only as a fragment: "…communion of the field."
A unicorn-goat in armor plated from corn-cobs lifts a chalice, part harvest-king, part sacrifice dressed as one. Foxglove climbs the left margin — medicine at the dose, poison past it — and a hand with eight fingers holds a mudra no living rite uses. The specimen offers the cup and is also, plainly, what fills it. The lost key would have told us which festival. Without it, the plate keeps both the feast and the debt.
