Plate V. No words. The label-space is filled instead with the Flower of Life, drawn compass-perfect.
A caryatid with butterfly wings stands inside her own dress, and the dress is a cage. At the margin a vessel holds a smaller caged thing — a spirit, or the idea of one. She could lift; the wings are functional. She does not. The plate leaves it undecided whether the cage is worn or inhabited, whether she holds the architecture up or it holds her in. The geometry in the label-slot offers a key that turns nothing.
