Plate IV. The label is a single word, half-scraped: "…RELIQUARY."
A beehive stands upright on small red shoes, a hive made ambulant, carrying its whole stored city with it. The five platonic solids ring the upper margin; a plant shows its taproot at the foot, the below drawn as carefully as the above. Read against the framework it did not yet know, this is the Knuckle Reliquary in seed — the chamber where the body keeps what it cannot say. The specimen is a container that learned to walk.
