Your Vote Is Your Voice
For the centennial of the 19th Amendment, we designed a piece to mark a hundred years of women’s right to vote — 1920 to 2020. A woman’s profile sits inside the Venus symbol, half American flag behind her, ringed by the amendment’s own words: the right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged… on account of sex. “Your vote is your voice. Speak out.”
The work was a civic call as much as a design — it went out into the world on t-shirts and pins, carrying Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s line with it: speak your mind, even if your voice shakes. It’s a good example of the studio’s design side: a single strong mark that holds a message and travels — onto a shirt, a button, a poster, a wall.
