Community Mosaic Project

A call-for-participation poster for the 2018 Community Mosaic Project — an open invitation for more than 300 participants to each paint a small canvas that, hung together, would form one large communal mosaic. Canvases were free thanks to the Artists Guild in Sturgeon Bay, and the finished work went on view at the Hardy Gallery.
The design had to do real work: explain what, when, and how at a glance for an audience of all ages, and look like the thing it was advertising. So the poster is built as a mosaic itself — a grid of bright painted squares spelling out the title — with a clear Join Us / When / How structure underneath. Informational design that still feels like art.
